This morning before church in the Augusta ward, we received notice from a dad about their daughter who is an AIT student out here at Fort Gordon. We immediately sent her a text to see if we could get a response from her and to see if we could come out and meet her before our Branch meetings. She responded back very quickly and was happy to hear from us and looked forward to meeting with us. We also had to pick up one of our soldiers to bring him in for an interview with President Estep. So just before noon, we left the Augusta ward and headed directly up to the Post to pick up Brother Priddy and then go meet Sister Gomez.
Everything worked out real well; in fact, Sister Gomez brought along with her two Battle Buddies, one who seems to be very interested in the church. We also had Sister Moreno come out from the 73rd, she also brought a battle buddy with her too.
This evening, after church we met again with the Johnson family and discussed with them the topic of covenants and how God's people have always been a covenant people. We discussed with them the importance of keeping our eye focused on building our covenant relationship with God by advancing in the priesthood and taking upon ourselves the covenants in the temple.
After returning home, we went to Elder and Sister Meacham's. Our entire district of missionaries gathered to for a testimony meeting and farewell to two of our missionaries who will be leaving on Tuesday.
