This evening, we visited the Halford family and had an enjoyable visit with them. He serves in the Branch Presidency and she in the Relief Society Presidency. He is retired military and they have several children who also serve. Sister Gowans gave them a little lesson from the Ensign magazine.
This afternoon, Elder Gowans assisted Elder Sato, who is from Japan, in getting his drivers license. When they arrived at the DDS, they learned that they still needed one more piece of information proving residence. They had nothing that they could produce. So we all went to the closest bank, opened a bank account, obtained a letter stating that they had an account there along with their address; the DDS man approved of the action and allowed us to proceed with getting Elder Sato a drivers license. He still needed to take the driver's test, both written and the driving test. He passed both of them and he finally received his license. It took us around 3 to 4 hours to get it all done.
The remainder parts of the day, we got our bags all packed for our big trip tomorrow. We pray that all the aircraft will be operational and ready to fly, that there will be no delays and that we will arrive on time in SLC. What a wonderful weekend this will be.
