During our normal Saturday morning visits to our soldiers, we were able to meet a new Sister, Sister Waiamau from Hilo, Hawaii. She is around 30 years old, is married and has two children. It makes me wonder, why would a 30 year old young mother of 2 up and join the Army? Are condition so bad in the world that she has to take these steps, or has something happened to her husband, or his job. You just wonder. She seems to be a very sweet and obviously courageous young woman. While out we also met a young lady who had met with the missionaries in the past; we invited her out to join us, we will see what happens. We were able to meet with and see a few others who struggle getting out. One fellow just had his wisdom teeth pulled, so he is on quarters. Another fellow has been running 1/2 marathons every other Sunday. There are so many things that pull these young men and women away.
This evening, we were able to enjoy a very nice ward activity. The Relief Society put on a real nice dinner and dance. The food was delicious and the company tremendous. We had a real good time.
